Ari Lennox

Courtney Shanade Salter, aka Ari Lennox, was born in Washington, D.C. on April 26th, 1991. She is an American artist and songwriter, as well as the first artist signed by J. Cole to his record label Dreamville Records. In the month of October, Ari Lennox released her debut EP Pho. The EP was where she received recognition. Shea Butter Baby her debut studio release was May 7th 2019. Ari Lennox first uploaded music online in 2012. Her debut album Ariography as well as her debut mixtape in 2013 five Finger Discount. The singer continued uploading her songs online throughout 2014, which included the self-released single Bound. The track Sweat it is part of Omen's Elephant Eyes album which dropped on July 21st, 2015. J. Cole had her submit her tracks for the Dreamville Team in the following year as he wanted Rihanna to be able work alongside her on some of the songs. On the 8th of December, it was confirmed that she had been officially signed by Dreamville Records. The singer appeared on the joint album Revenge of the Dreamers II on the track Backseat with Cozz. On October 21, 2016 her EP Pho was released. Ari Lennox was a guest on J. Cole's Change, and she performed as part of The 4 Your Eyez Only Tour as an opening artist. In 2018, she performed as a guest performer on two songs, with EarthGang's Nothing but the Best song and Bas's Icarus. On the 16th of July in 2018, Ari Lennox released the first single, Whipped Cream of her album debut Shea Butter Baby with an accompanying music video that was released on the 5th of September. In November, she dropped two singles titled 40 Shades of Choke and Grampa. She then released on the 13th of November, two brand new singles titled The No One and Pedigree. Shea Butter Baby was released as her first single on the 26th of February, 2019, for the album Creed II. Shea Butter Baby performed with Cole in the Creed II sound track on the 16th of November. It was released with the music video which debuted in February 20th, 2019, and it surpassed the milestone of 3 million views on YouTube in the first week. She supported 6LACK's From East Atlanta With Love Tour during December the year 2018.
